Well, the entries were in, the prizes secured and Natal Powerboats were ready to host a great few days of fishing along the KZN coastline.
That matched with some favorable fishing conditions saw anglers from all facets lining up to secure that number one spot and walk away with the main prize, a brand new Suzumar 290 paired with a 2.5hp Suzuki outboard and R5000 cash!
As the boaters, kayakers and jet ski anglers geared up to hunt down that prize winning largest catch, it was all systems go with a few good catches coming out which saw kayak fisherman Roscoe Rautenbach bag himself a nice 29.26kg tuna whilst the ladies were also on a mission to show the men up with Janine Morrison showing up to the scales with her 12.84kg tuna.
At the end of the day it was all Darryl Barthos who managed to claim that number one spot with a solid 32.42kg tuna. Xmas definitely came early for the Barthos family as they walked off with the Suzumar prize to been seen on a waterway near you soon.
The final prize giving was full of festivities with the following results:
1st Darryl Barthos – Tuna 32.42kg.
Top Jet Ski – Graham Ludwig – Bonnie 8.02kg.
Top Kayak – Roscoe Rautenbach – Tuna 29.26kg.
Top Lady – Janine Morrison – Tuna 12.84kg.
Top Junior – Maddison Shepard – Tuna 12.80kg.
