Imagine celebrating Mothers Day on a boat, a unique and unforgettable experience that will surely make the day extra special for your mom!

While breakfast in bed is a classic, why not switch it up and host breakfast on your family's boat? It's easier than you think, with options like serving yogurt and muesli, an Ouma Rusk, and coffee, or toast with spreads. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even prepare a traditional farm breakfast. The size of your boat and the availability of takeout from local restaurants will determine your options. But no matter what you choose, the view from the boat will make your mom feel extra special on her day.

If you're spending Mother's Day on a boat with your mom, consider investing your flower budget into other items such as an oversized sun hat, a beautiful beach towel, a giant carry-all bag, stylish sunglasses or even new boat shoes. These items can make the day even more enjoyable and memorable. If you're still keen on flowers, you can always add them to the mix.

One of the most thoughtful ways to show your love, gratitude, and appreciation on Mother's Day is by creating a playlist just for her. Music has a way of setting the mood and conveying a message, and this personalized touch will along make your mom feel cherished. Don't worry if your boat doesn't have a stereo, you can always bring along a portable speaker.

This may be a day to explore some new waters, and to add to this, it's an extra special occasion. But wherever you decide to visit, keeping it a surprise always adds to the fun.

Mother's Day is the day for Mom to spin the boat props, get her behind the wheel, and let her become confident on the throttle.

As South Africans, we love to braai! After a day of fun on the water, everyone is bound to be hungry. Instead of dining at the restaurant, you can opt for a nice braai on the water, especially if your boat is equipped with a braai. Alternatively, most boating venues have braai facilities close to the water.

We know it will be difficult to top the ultimate Mother's Day celebration on the water, but you have the whole year to plan the next one.
