The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has launched an online Recreational Fishing Permit Application that allows recreational fishers to apply for monthly and annual Recreational Fishing Permits.

This initiative aims to make the permit application process simple and convenient for all recreational anglers. The online application process is user-friendly and provides detailed information about the different permit options available.

It also allows fishermen to track the status of their application and receive updates about the progress of their permits. With this new system, recreational anglers can now easily obtain their permits without the need to physically visit a post office.

Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Barbara Creecy said “Applicants will be able to choose the type of permit they require, select the period of validity, process payments and download the permit,”

The online solution is provided as a free service in addition to the permits issued by SAPO. This means that members of the public who have access to the internet can conveniently apply for permits online. However, for those who do not have internet access, the nearest SAPO branch can still be used to apply for the necessary permits.

The online application can be accessed using the link below.
