The 2014 Kariba Invitational Tiger Fish Tournament (KITFT) was run over 3 days from the 22 to the 24th of October 2014. Numbers were down a little from last year but there was still a very respectable entry of 112 teams with over 300 anglers with the majority of teams running 2 boats. Conditions to the top end of the lake were very rough with many bruised bodies at the end of the day.
Fishing this year was reasonable with a number of quality fish over 5 kgs being caught and the largest of 12kgs went away with the awesome prize of a motor vehicle (Bakkie). This beauty was caught by Mr Patrick Driscoll a member of the Suzuki sponsored Africom team. The team results were as follows
1) CHATER REMINGTON GOLD 143.765 points
2) TREK PETROLIUM 140.215 points
3) CHARTER AFRICOM 135.825 points
This year saw Suzuki Marine as a silver sponsor of the tournament and there were the usual engines on display, give-aways and colourful advertising materials as well as Suzuki powered boats taking the local TV station cameramen out daily. There was also a full service and backup to all anglers sponsored by Suzuki Marine. Roll on 2015.
