Suzuki Marine continues to have a strong presence in Southern Africa, having sold a total of 1413 new outboards in 2023. This includes sales to other African countries and equates to a market share of just under 48%, as provided by Amid’s outboard sales reports.

Looking at South Africa 4 stroke outboards only, Suzuki sold 1034 units over the course of the last year, making Suzuki once again the best-selling 4-stroke outboard in South Africa.

While the exact figures naturally vary from month to month, the DF100B was easily Suzuki’s number-one choice for consumers, with an incredible 213 units moved. This means the DF100 accounted for 15% of all the outboards sold by the Japanese manufacturer in Southern Africa last year. The DF140 was the runner-up of most popular Suzuki outboards with 199 units sold in 2023.

In terms of new development, Suzuki included a new dealer, Leisure Marine based in Midrand, in their dealer network. Moreover, Suzuki introduced the DF350AMD with integrated steering in 2023 and is looking forward to more introductions in 2024!
